Northern Lights Quartet

Three of this superb band hail from a great deal further north than the Watford Gap!! Pianist Andrzej Baranek, guitarist Tim David Williams and drummer Gaz Hughes are very much northern based musicians, where they enjoy well deserved popularity and much critical acclaim for their work in their own right as first-call musicians and various northern based top level jazz ensembles. Bassist Paul Jefferies will be guesting to complete the quartet. The Northern Lights Quartet will bring a truly entertaining clutch of classic jazz pieces to Woodstock with an emphasis on swing from the 40s and 50s and Latin specials from the likes of Antonio Carlos Jobim and more.
Catriona Bourne Ensemble

We’re excited to present the fabulous Catriona Bourne - a multi-instrumentalist who performs on harp and flute in many musical genres including classical, jazz and folk playing original music and classic repertoire. For The Jazz Club at Woodstock she will be presenting a programme of jazz ’standards’ collaborating with one of the club’s favourite pianist Jonathan Taylor, double bassist Paul Jefferies and the very fine drummer Chris Nickolls. Expect a night of the unexpected - a classy classical feel with jazz harmonies and a foot-tapping layer of Swing….
Dom Franks Quartet

The 1986 classic ‘Round Midnight’ musical drama movie starred saxophonist Dexter Gordon with a soundtrack by Herbie Hancock - the title coming from Thelonius Monk’s 1943 composition of the same name. It’s based on combined life stories of jazz legends Lester Young and pianist Bud Powell and features many classic pieces of jazz music which saxophonist Dom Franks has utilised to create this exciting ‘hit’ filled show. Dom has chosen three good friends and top players to help him create this show on stage - pianist Alex Steele, bassist Paul Jefferies and drummer Andy Tween. We think you’ll love it!
Ben Holder Gypsy Swing Band

Violinist (and singer) Ben Holder, guitarists Jez Cook and Ducato Piotrowski and bassist Paul Jefferies will join Ben to create a show that harks back to the days of smokey underground Paris jazz clubs in the 1930s. We’ll aim to create the same ‘vibe’ less the cigarette smoke at The Jazz Club in Woodstock. Ben is quite probably the most exciting jazz violinist in Europe and the UK today with many critically acclaimed recordings and performances here and overseas to his name so we are delighted to welcome him back to The Jazz Club at Woodstock.
