There are very few who can boast that they’ve part of the Ray Charles band, but Greg Abate is one of those rare beasts! Since his spell with the master of song and jazz, Greg has been one of the foremost straight ahead / bebop players in the business touring extensively throughout USA and the UK gracing some of the most famous stages including London’s Ronnie Scotts, New York’s Blue Note and of course The Jazz Club at Woodstock! Greg's performances are always witty and charming and his choice of music will have something for every jazz lover’s palate. On stage with Greg on the night will be the highly energetic Alex Steele (piano) lyrical bassist Paul Jefferies and top drummer Euan Palmer.

Celebrating the roots of all jazz (the Blues) we introduce two of the finest Blues musicians on the UK and European scene today. Singer / guitarist spends over half his year touring Northern Europe where he is something of a legend - his style is raunchy, punky and full of energy and we know it’s going to blend beautifully with another top blues singer and virtuoso Harmonica specialist Stuart Maxwell. Supplying bottom end and groove will be the perfect pairing of Jefferies & Millward (Paul & Nick).

Bryan Corbett has been at the forefront of jazz in Britain for over 30 years. Originally one of the stars of young jazz in and around Birmingham, he has recorded with a who’s who of legendary British and International jazz, soul and blues greats and he’s particularly known for his subtle tone (on both trumpet and fluegelhorn horn) and his ability to melodically weave solos around even the trickiest jazz compositions. This show will feature the wonderful talents of Mr Tom Berge and his trio (Tom - piano, Paul Jefferies - bass & Jason Reeve - drums).

The songs of Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart are particular favourites of award winning tenor sax specialist Robert Fowler. Their music was the backdrop for many of Broadway’s most famous and successful musicals. Robert is a true master of the art of the Tenor Sax, highly evocative sounding and full of gutsy passion the tenor sax lends itself to melodic playing and that’s what you can be assured of for this concert. On hand to lend harmonic and rhythmic balance will be the the piano/bass/drums combo or Alex Steele, Paul Jefferies and Euan Palmer - a night of highly melodic entertainment is assured….
